In reimagining the office of this architecturally significant home, we were inspired by the allure of a jewel box—rich hues, brass accents, and leather details came together to create a space that feels both timeless and intimate. We carefully selected mid-century design classics to honor the home's history. The multi-functional space seamlessly transitions from an office to a guest room, with a custom-designed sofa that pulls out into a bed. A striking asymmetrical Holly Hunt chandelier offers a nod to modern elegance. Grasscloth wallcovering adds texture, while a bespoke silk and wool rug anchors the room in deep blue tones, echoing the cabinetry.
In the primary bedroom’s walk-in closet, we embraced a palette of saffron and walnut, accentuated by mixed metals, drawing inspiration from the world of fashion. The result is a space that feels luxurious and curated, where every detail speaks to both beauty and function. The walnut and high gloss lacquer saffron casework is finished with hammered bronze hardware. We created an intimate moment by combining a custom curved built-in sofa upholstered in sumptuous patterned fabrics and two brass and fluted glass pendants which cast a warm glow tucked in the corner of the space. Taj mahal quartzite counters, leather wrapped shelves, linen weave over metallic paper wallcovering and a plaster ceiling with mica add to the spaces opulence.
